The pandemic of 2020 made us all stay indoors for over a year. While we spent so much time self-reflecting and mindlessly browsing through the interweb. One desire kept boiling inside everyone, the desire to travel to a distant place. Seasonal travelers and novice travelers, of course, would be dying to escape from their homes. 

With the world slowly recovering through the pandemic and the people getting back off their feet financially. Fortunately, international travel can be really cheap if travel to the right places. Many destinations have enough malicious beauty to take your breath away without costing a leg and an arm.

Danmark

Among the Scandinavian countries and most parts of Europe, Denmark can be the cheapest. Though still quite expensive than other parts of Europe, if done right you can save a lot of money on travel. First, you need to keep in mind is, Denmark is fairly busy in Summer. Since the weather is nice and warm, leading to higher prices. 

However, there is a stark 40% difference between November and December. With the Cold wind blowing, most of the tourist crowd would have gone home and you have more room to enjoy the beauty. You can enjoy cheap breakfast and meals from bakeries in the Central area rather than from your hotel restaurants or touristy places.

Furthermore, there are winter exclusives, that you can visit for free or for very cheap. Like visiting Amalienborg castle to see the changing of the guard ceremony. Or see Hans Christian Andersen’s grave at Assistens Cemetery. Perhaps, take a stroll around the gardens of Rosenberg Castle. You can also visit the Second Oldest operating Amusement part in the world which only charges a flat fee and you can have access to all kinds of rides and entertainment areas for free.

Morocco

Is far the cheapest country over in south Africa or might become expensive if you are not careful. Since there are tourist traps, such as Marrakesh's bazaar. Other than that, you eat cheap with local specialties and desserts, like Kabbas, stuff almond cookies, and hardy stews. You can also enjoy street foods and locally sourced teas and coffee.

You also don’t have to worry about expending money on a guide since they come free along with the ticket. And if you are good with directions, you would even need a guide and can visit major attractions - such as Royal Saadien’s tomes or 12-century Menara Gardens.

Colombia

Is a country with rich and captivating history and its marine life and colorful beaches. If you are a history nerd, Colombia will be a treasure trove for you, with museums and historical sites in Bogota, the lost city of Ciudad Perdida and beyond that the great Amazon awaits you. You can also visit its vast beaches and take dive in its water to explore its variety of marine life.

Along with cheap transportation costs and delicious local meals, you will have enough room in your budget to go diving more than once. You can even afford a luxurious villa for a night or two.

You can start by visiting the vast coffee plantation, then take a nature tour hiking the volcanoes and trekking in the national parks. Go diving or snorkeling near the beaches, or take your time exploring the cities of Medellin and Cartagena.

Poland

It might be a country that is usually overlooked by travelers, but Poland is another hitter for those history nerds out there. With a cheap ticket to enter museums and historical sites, full of sites to admire and photograph. With the added benefit of fewer international travelers and having cheap hotels and plates of delicious hardy meals.

You can spend hours observing the people and the culture of the land. While exploring smaller cities like Krakow, Warsaw, Gdansk, Wroclaw, and Zakopane. Which are all captivating with an abundance of beauty and far cheaper.

Croatia

If you love natural beauty, open forests, and islands, swimming in a waterfall, then Croatia is a perfect place for you. With thousands of islands surrounding its central mass and with excellent weather from May and October. Along with beach and yacht parties year-round, including the essentials like transportation and food with a reasonable price tag.

Furthermore, Croatia also has breathtaking architecture and captivating sights. Such as the Museum of Broken Relationships, and some small handsome towns to visit. But you also need to keep in mind, not to visit Croatia in July and August which it’s the busiest.
