Emerging Technologies for the upcoming decade

The flow of time is not coming you can pause, to continue to grow and advance towards a better tomorrow. Bring along Technological advancement which will shape our future greatly. That introduction put aside, gets ready for your mind to be in pieces. Since you sleeping does not affect, development and research into bringing dreams and theories into reality.

Here are some of the Emerging Technologies which soon come to fruition and become the norm. Leading to either a marvelous or dangerous future. Here are some of my picks for the Emerging Technologies I am excited about.

Agriculture

Cultured Meat (Cellular Agriculture)

There have been massive improvements towards Cultured meat. Which is a form of slaughter-free meat. Which is also known as Cellular Agriculture. Furthermore, if you are able to put one-and-one together, you guessed right. It uses similar techniques and methods used in the development of Regenerative medicine. Essentially ending the fund between Peta and meat lovers all around the world.

The proof came forward back in 2013 by my professor Mark Post from the University of Maastricht. This brilliant man was able to create a hamburger patty grown directly from the cells. And soon enough the SuperMeat was able to open an experimental restaurant called “The Chicken”. But it was until December 2020, when the cultured meat became available commercially. Manufactured by Eat Just and at Singaporean restaurant called “1880”.

Agriculture robotics

The use of robotic has been a common topic of scientists and any sci-fi fan. But it should be known, they are here and are going through development and research. This will involve robotics and drones, for harvesting, weed control, cloud seeding, Harvesting, Monitoring of the soil and the crop, and planting seeds.

Many uses of these robotics have already begun, with Fruit picking, Driverless tractor ploying the land, and automatic sheep shearing. Which unfortunately are decreasing the need for human labor. Furthermore, they also are used in spraying insecticides and pesticides, weeding, and pruning, and automatic milking of cows and goats. The best benefit is the quality of the product and the efficiency which can’t be reviled by human labor.

closed ecological

Referers to ecosystems that are artificially created in tightly enclosed places, without interacting with the outside world. There are many examples in science fiction and tv shows, in the form of dom cities and habitable spaces on alien plants or astroids. Finally bringing the dream of people living on Mars to fruition.

The end goal of the scientist working on this subject is to make the habitable ecosystem, a reality. Mainly for space stations or furthermore for colonization on other plants. There are some which have already been tested and some were are still in testing. Such as Biosphere 2, MELiSSA, and the BIOS-3 projects. There are ecosystems on commercial sale as well, like Bottle gardens and Aquarium ecospheres.

Entertainment

computer-generated imagery

Usually refers to GCI, but in this case, we are talking about the craziest inventions of DeepFake/StyleGAN and DeepDream. All three are very similar in their function, as both are powered by Artificial Intelligence. Causing

DeepFake uses Deep Learning which is a smaller part of Machine Learning. It enables the manipulation of pictures and videos, replacing the person in them with a computer-generated one. Allowing manipulation in the making of celebrity pornography videos, revenge porn, fake news, hoaxes, and financial furred.

Immersive VirtuSphere (Virtual Reality)

Virtual reality was mind-blowing advancement that came to every household in the form of a VR headset. Allowing you to play out your favorite games in Virtual Reality, but this is going to go even further. With the development of VirtuSphere, the next advancement since VR headsets. A 10-foot hollow sphere stands upon a special design platform.

The VirtuSphere allows a person inside to move freely while inside. Using computer-based simulation and virtual worlds, it rotates and moves to allow you to move freely while keeping you in place in real-time. This is all thanks to the wireless head display and gyroscope in tracking the user’s movement. Perfect for future gaming, military training, and virtual tour.

IT and Communicatiom

6G

With an ever-moving world of technological advancement, a new step has been taken towards a brighter future. With 6G or the sixth Generation of the network.

Smartglasses

Since wearable computerized gadgets are common knowledge in the world of science fiction. but soon they will be coming into our everyday life in the form of Smartglasses. Many big tech leaders such as Google and Microsoft are bringing this concept to our future. With Google producing Google Glass and Microsoft producing Microsoft HoloLens.

As with other smart devices, some familiar features can be found. Such as Activity tracking and GPS tracking navigation, digital cameras, and notification alert system. All of this is possible with an Optical head-mount display or wireless glasses, with a head-up display or augmented reality overlay.

DNA digital data storages

Bring along Technological advancement which will shape our future greatly. Development and research into bringing dreams and theories into reality.

Now time for something very, very weird. DNA digital data storage is exactly what it sounds like. Some crazy scientist out there found a way to encode data onto a strain of synthesized strands of DNA, the same one inside every living being. The first experiment was far from failure with a group of scientists reporting coding an entire 16 GB worth of Wikipedia on a synthetic DNA.

Li-Fi

Li-Fi

Here was something else which is going through research on, transferring date through light as a medium, known as Li-Fi. The term came up in the TEDGloble talk in Edinburgh, presented by Harald Haas. explained as transferring communication data between two devices at light speed using visible light, ultraviolet, and infrared lights.

Though it may sound unusual to use light as a mode to transfer data. It is very similar to Wi-Fi, the only difference being Radiofrequency used in Wi-Fi, whereas Li-Fi processes data into light intensity to transmit data. They say it can transmit at 100Gbit/s and function in those areas where there is electromagnetic wave interference. While news to you, this technology is being researched by many organizations across the globe, though there are no names to give.

Military

Cloaking Device (Metamaterial cloaking)

Here we go, starting from the dream of every science fiction author, a real-life clocking device. Though it may sound like a joke, it is going through development. More formally known as Metamaterial clocking. A Metamaterial is any material engineered to have properties not found in naturally occurring material. And this as far a simple explanation goes.

Moving on, however, certain Metamaterial goes through development to showcase the effect of electromagnetic radiation or sound. Which are not usually not found in such large objects. Such Metamaterial is classified as Negative-index Metamaterials. Those with a negative value to some of the frequencies once passed through them which is regarded as highly uncommon.

Green Bullet

Is a new addition to there arsenal of the United States Department of Defense, taking “Peace-loving plants” into consideration. Producing Green Bullet which is a nickname among many others for an eco-friendly ammunition type. Which is harmless not for the person getting the bullet, but for the environment he/she is going to die in.

Most of these efforts were done by the United States Army CCDC Armaments Center. By eliminating ozone-depleting substances, such as volatile organic compounds, and heavy metals from primers and projectiles. The major part was due to lead poising, as hunters hunting game with lead ammunition would cause lead poising. Switching over to Green ammunition would cost about 2.5 million for waste removable, though they could just not use their weaponry for fun. That’s always an option.

Force Field (Plasma window)

Force field is an everyday item in Science fiction games and movies. But to make it read it is indeed a feat of science malevolence, which has been here for quite a time. More formally known as a Plasma window, which has a viscous reaction when coming in contact with any material.

First invented by Brookhaven National laboratory by Ady Hershcovitch and patented in 1995. Furthermore, many other developments took over after that. As in 2014, students from the University of Leicester published a study explaining the functions of spaceship plasma deflector shield. Later in 2015, an American multinational corporation that designs manufacture, and sells aircraft, Boeing. Created a force field system and got the patent approved, although only protecting from shockwave caused by an explosion.

Michio Kaku, is an American theoretical physicist and a professor of theoretical physics in the City College of New York and CUNY Graduate Center. Has proposed a force field concept consisting of three layers. Which consists of a layer of high-powered plasma window heating up to 15,000 K (14,700 °C; 26,500 °F). The second layer of Laser beams vaporizes any object that managed to pass through the first one. And the last layer is made of Graphene, to protect against any debris or shrapnel.
